Nominee Bios


Richie Keene 2021-2024, Can be elected to 1st term 2021

Richie was among the first cohort of students of the Penn State Harrisburg Accelerated Second Degree Program in Nursing.  In 2018, Richie completed his MSN and currently works as a Nurse Practitioner at Geisinger Holy Spirit Medical Group-Enola Primary Care. He has been an active member of the mentoring program.  Further, he has also served on various Penn State student events, including: “Surviving your first year on the job”; “Insta-chat”; and mock interviews.  In addition, Richie is also a member of American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Pennsylvania Coalition of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society.


Stacey-Ann Okoth

Stacey received her undergraduate degree from Penn State World Campus in 2011. She also received a BA in Healthcare Administration, a MBA, as well as a MSN in Healthcare Systems Leadership and a DNP in Executive Leadership. Stacey currently holds an executive role as Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President Patient Care Services at UPMC Altoona/UPMC Bedford. While at Penn State, Stacey was a member of the Penn State Diversity Committee and the Beta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She currently serves as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the American Organization of Nurse Executives. Stacey is the recipient of the Top 100 Under 50 Executive Award and the 40 under 40 Award.


Susan Rux

Susan received her undergraduate nursing degree from Penn State Harrisburg in 2000. She also received her MSN/Clinical Nurse Specialist and Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Education in 2004, her Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Administration in 2005 and her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing Science in 2016.  Susan is currently the Dean of the Undergraduate Nursing Program at Chamberlain University in North Brunswick, NJ as well as Founder/CEO of SR Strategic Solutions, LLC, an executive consultancy.  She also serves as the Vice President of Communications for the New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA), Region 4 and serves as member of the task force for the American Nurses Association Professional Panel for Incivility, Bullying, and Workplace Violence.  Susan is an award-winning nurse administrator, career coach, educator, and improvisator whose work on promoting civility in the nursing workplace has brought international attention to the divisive concerns of peer-to-peer incivility in academic and work environments.


Tonya Wert

Tonya received her undergraduate nursing degree from Penn State in 1996 after she spent her freshman and sophomore years at the Penn State Mont Alto. She earned her MSN in Nursing Education in 2010. She is currently working as a Clinical Manager for Wellspan Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg, PA.  While at Penn State she was an active member of SNAP and the Penn State Equestrian team. She is currently a member of Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and Sigma Theta Tau International and serves as a Lion Link Mentor and Varsity “S” Club member. She is looking forward to the opportunity to give back to the Penn State College of Nursing.
