We invite you to join us for a day of short presentations by current students and faculty on departmental research around the topic of facing challenges - from global challenges addressed by EME research to personal challenges overcome in undertaking the research itself. 8:30 a.m.: Welcome 8:35 – 10:30 a.m.: Student Lightening Talks 15-minute talks by students in the department 10:45 a.m. - noon: Student Poster Contest Talks Five-minute presentations on posters entered in contest Noon – 1:30 p.m.: Speakers’ Luncheon and Poster Judging (Registration now closed for luncheon) 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.: Faculty Research Spotlight Talks 30-minute talks by EME faculty on their current research - Thanasis Karamalidis, Assistant Professor of Environmental Systems Engineering - FeiFei Shi, Assistant Professor of Energy Engineering, “Challenges, Discoveries and Opportunities in Energy Systems” - Ezgi Toraman, Assistant Professor of Energy Engineering, “Development of New Processes, Materials and Technologies for Non-Traditional Feedstocks” 3:15 – 5:00 p.m.: Panel Discussion: NAE/NAS members on The NAE Grand Challenges - Larry W.
